Yes, many of you might have been to Disneyland few times, even countless times if you loved Mickey Mouse so much (or maybe Goofy). But I bet many dads (or boys, and some petrol head ladies) would really love to go to this new theme park. It’s called the Ferrari World, and is located at Abu Dhabi.

Situated in Yas Island, this park is under a 200,000 square metres (2,200,000 sq ft) roof, making it the largest indoor amusement park in the world. You can’t really miss that red Ferrari-themed roof when you’re in Abu Dhabi. Ferrari called this fantasy park an “exciting attraction designed to tell the Ferrari story, passion, excellence, performance and technical innovation to families.” Sure is a nice way to share the stories of Ferrari, and they’re sure kind, as the numbers of visitors expected to visit this humongous theme-park yearly isn’t enough to cover the overall cost and maintenance of the park itself in the 1^st ten years.

With more than 20 rides and attractions lying beneath the iconic 200,000 m² red roof, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will offer guests the time of their lives with a host of attractions that indulge the senses in ways never experienced before. With the thrill of some of the world’s most inventive rides, eye-catching surroundings, authentic aromas and distinctive sounds of Italy, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi will have something for everyone.

Ferrari has also been ‘so kind’ of flooding visitors with lots of attractions and fun-ness to not bore them. There’s the world’s fastest roller coaster (240km/h of pure screaming rides) Formula Rossa, the “V12” flume ride inside a 12-cylinders engine, Fiorano GT Challenge – A unique dueling rollercoaster with Ferrari F430 Spiders twisting and turning through tight corners on a sprint to the finish line, and a thrilling tower ride called “G-Force” that will shoot you through the red roof and 62-meters beyond inside a seat inspired by the Ferrari Enzo (sure would be scary and fun).

If you’re a little faint-hearted, they’ll accommodate your needs as well with attractions such as Made in Maranello which is a virtual trip behind factory doors, taking you through the intricate process of making the world’s most sought after car. There’s also the Viaggio in Italia, a virtual aerial voyage over Italy’s cities and their main monuments, mountains and coasts pursuing a Ferrari. There’s also a 4D fantasy journey for you to view, following the adventures of a young boy as he travels through a kaleidoscopic dreamscape of natural and phenomenal environments, where no Ferrari has gone before. But Ferrari doesn’t stop there, as they’re kin to share with you their history, and Italy as well. Bell’Italia is miniature recreation of Italy’s most famous locations, from the picturesque Portofino and the Amalfi Coast to Monza racetrack, the Colosseum in Roma, Venezia and Maranello, the heartland and home of Ferrari. Really makes you feel like you’re in Italy.

Petrol head visitors will have plenty of chances to enjoy the thrill of racing, with attractions like Scuderia Challenge, which is a cutting edge race simulator used by the drivers of Scuderia Ferrari, Junior GT which is a driving school for kids with expert instruction where they will drive reduced scale F430 GT Spiders on an equipped driving course. After the Junior GT driving experience, potential F1 drivers can enjoy the race track in scaled down Ferrari F1 racers in the Junior Grand Prix.

Welcome to the Recycled Island. At Recycled Island, we love Mother Nature, and we love to recycle. Therefore we made some cute and colorful houses from your used plastic and your dump. The chimney is made of your dump, and the chair is reassembled from your old cabinet. The sofa might be abit hard as we run out of used cottons, so please bear with it at the moment.

This is the idea of the Dutch, where they plan to turn the waste-filled island into a tropical destination. Unique by itself because it smells like your waste. The Recycled Island will be turned into a habitable, self-sustaining island.

Recycled Island would be about the size of Hawaii’s biggest island and would be located in between Hawaii and San Francisco. The lofty project’s main goals are to recycle the plastic floating in the ocean, establish a stable and seaworthy island and make the island self-sufficient with its own sustainable foods and energy sources. So we’re talking houses made from plastic, fertilizable soil made from seaweed and human manure, and electricity coming from solar, wave, and wind power.

The concept is still rather ‘bizarre’, and very far-fetched I might add. It would already be very hard to build a self-sustaining island out of all the rubbish of this world. What’s more, you’re going to build buildings on this unstable island, using recycled materials. A very welcomed idea indeed, but I won’t put high hopes on this.

The main characteristics of the island are summarized:

1. Realized from the plastic waste in our Oceans. This will clean our Oceans intensely and it will change the character of the plastic waste from garbage to building material. The gathering of the plastic waste will become a lot more attractive.

2. The island is habitable, where it will have its value as land capturing and is a potential habitat for a part of the rising amount of climate refugees.

3. The habitable area is designed as an urban setting. Nowadays already half of the World population lives in urban conditions, which has a huge impact on nature. The realization of mixed-use environments is our hope for the future.

4. The island is constructed as a green living environment, from the point of view of a natural habitat. The use of compost toilets in creating fertile ground is an example in this.

5. It is a self sufficient habitat, which is not (or hardly) depending from other countries and finds its own resources to survive. The settlement has its own energy and food sources.

6. The island is ecologic and not polluting or affecting the world negatively. Natural and non polluting sources are used to let the island exist in harmony with nature.

7. The size of the floating city is considerable in relation to the huge amount of plastic waste in the Ocean. The largest concentration of plastic has a footprint the size of France and Spain together. Starting point is to create an island with the coverage of 10.000Km2. This is about the size of the island Hawaii.

8. The location is the North Pacific Gyre, where at this moment the biggest concentration of plastic waste is discovered. This is geographically a beautiful spot North-East to Hawaii. By recycling and constructing directly on the spot with the biggest concentration of plastic waste, long transports are avoided. Because of the floating character the position could eventually be altered.

No Man’s Land Fort was built in between 1861 and 1880 off the coast of Portsmouth, England. It was built built to house nearly 80 soldiers to fend off an attack from the French navy but today it is now being used as a hotel, a luxury hotel that comes with 21 lavish themed rooms, two helipads and heated indoor swimming pool. The fort located a mile from the mainland. It is nearly 200 feet across and rises 60 feet from the sea.

Now after the previous owner has been jailed and his company collapsed, the fort is once again on the market, for £4 million ($8.1 million).

This is the Inntel Hotel Zaandam at Netherlands. It is designed by WAM Architects. The hotel looks like a pileup of traditional Dutch houses, like the nature of hotels in town centers. The core of the hotel is made of concrete while the houses are timber and clapboard making many of the room like authentic and individual houses. More pictures after the break.

Wow that’s awesome. Artist Michel de Broin’s hang a 7.5-meter disco ball suspended 50-meters above the Jardin du Luxembourg. It took Michel 1,000 mirrors to make that disco ball for his Nuit Blanche project and spotlights are positioned throughout the city to make it sparkles. More pictures after the break.

It is called the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. This theme park features a red roof with Ferrari logo which said to be inspired by the classic double curve side profile of the Ferrari GT body. Spanning 2,152,782 square feet and that’s the largest Ferrari logo ever. Set to open next year.

This dangles riders are located atop the Stratosphere Las Vegas. It is 64-feet over the edge of the hotel’s tower at a height of 909-feet and best of all, you’ll be facing downwards at 70-degree angle, with speeds of up to 3G’s. Video after the break.
