World’s Fastest Ethanol Car – Lotus Exide 265E

The Lotus Exide 265E claims to be the world’s fastest ethanol car. Lotus said that it’s also the most powerful road version of the Lotus Exige which they ever made. The vehicle weighs just 2,050-pounds runs on E85 fuel and an output of 265 horsepower at 8000 rpm and peak torgue of 184 pound-feet at 5500 rpm. The engine is a modified version of the Exige’s existing Toyota powerplant which will reach 60 mph in just 3.88 seconds, and 100 mph in 9.2 seconds and top speed of 158mph. For fuel system, the engine calibration and the four fuel injectors mounted on the inlet manifold have been enlarged and two additional fuel injectors have been fixed on the supercharger inlet to increase the fuel which being injected to the engine under higher engine loads and to further cool the charge air prior to combustion.

Latest RUF Creation the 2007 RUF R Kompressor

The latest creation from RUF, the 2007 RUF R Kompressor based on Porsche’s 997. This car features a supercharged, 3.8L flat-6 that produces 435hp @ 7000rpm and 347 ft-lb torque @ 5000rpm; it accelerates in 4.1 seconds from 0-60mph. The basis of the supercharged engine is the centrifugal Kompressor with a planetary gear box. This supercharger works like a mechanic turbo charger which is operated by a v-belt. The engine has an aluminium intake manifold developed by RUF with two integrated intercoolers, optimized injection valves, a lower base compression, sport catalytic converters with greater performance and a newly adjusted electronic engine management system. A Promotional video released by SAAB on their Aero-X concept which is powered by a twin-turbo, 2.8L BioPower V6 engine — producing 400hp @ 5000rpm and 369 lb-ft @ 2000-5000 rpm. This car is cool, as you can see it with a cockpit canopy which replaces the door and the windshield pillar that give the driver 180-degree views.
