There’s always a place for renewable and clean power, be it concept of not. But do you mind if your watch can only tell you time when you blow your smelly mouth towards it? That’s going to be a very smelly watch.

“Hey dude, what time it is?”

“Hold, let me blow my watch!”

Right, that’s going to be very awkward. Designer Julien Moise envisioned a device that’s powered by blown air, displaying the time only when you want to see it. It’s a very good idea, and that your watch will never run out of power, as long as you don’t run out of breath. But if you really do, you still have your trusty iPhone to tell you your time.

It’s almost a year since Apple’s iPhone 4 is out in the market. Remember the ‘Apple vs Samsung’ case that just went on stage lately? Now why did Apple use their iPhone 3G patent to sue Samsung instead of iPhone 4? Well that’s partly because they don’t own the patent, yet. But now they do.

The company has been granted the patent a year after the company filed the application, which details the “ornamental design for an electronic device with graphical user interface” in words and pictures. What’s more, Apple’s now also finally snagged a design patent for the 2007 iPod touch, and it’s picked up a few other patents related to iTunes, Apple TV, and one for a “touch screen RFID tag reader.”

Now, Meizu better get ready as I predict that Apple will be suing them too very soon with this new iPhone 4 patent. I won’t be surprised if Apple also decides to sue other NAS builders with their Apple TV pattern.

Intel Atom is so yesteryear! Smartphones are going dual-core with 1080p 30fps playback capability, yet packed with such small package in smartphones that it totally shamed Intel’s once-popular x86 processor. Now the netbook age is taking on an even greater essence in the form of AMD’s latest Fusion technology.

Acer has just launched their new the Aspire One 722, an 11-inch mini with an aesthetic and modern curve. Like the D257 shown in Barcelona, its lid is made of molded plastic, sculpted to resemble a series of ripples.

Spec-wise, it has the same innards as the more staid-looking Aspire One 522, pairing AMD’s netbook-class 1GHz C-50 Ontario processor with Radeon HD 6250 graphics. But the 722 improves on the 10-inch 522 with higher 1366 x 768 resolution, two speakers instead of one, and rated battery life of up to seven hours — a boost over the 522′s six-hour max.

No price and availability announcement just yet, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be very soon.

We’ve seen plenty of big-time lawsuits, but this has just got to be the biggest shit of all pukes. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple has sued Samsung Electronics for copying “the look and feel” of its iPad tablet and iPhone smartphone. Funny isn’t it, that previously we heard about Apple being the biggest customer of Samsung.

Apple’s take is on the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, saying that it bears too much of a passing resemblance to the iPhone 3G/3GS models being patent, and the slightly less obvious Epic 4G, Nexus S, and Galaxy Tab (presumably the older 7-inch model, since the newer ones aren’t out yet) devices.

“Rather than innovate and develop its own technology and a unique Samsung style for its smart phone products and computer tablets, Samsung chose to copy Apple’s technology, user interface and innovative style in these infringing products.”

The lawsuit was filed in the Northern District of California on Friday and seeks injunctions against Samsung, damages (both actual and punitive), and a finding that the infringement was wilful. Lest we forget, the rarest outcome in such legal tussles is for an actual judgment to actually be handed down, so the greatest likelihood is that this will just lead to another round of grudging handshakes and licensing going one way with money going the other way, but still, it’s fun to see the big dogs barking at each other.

Right, here’s a tablet that will make iFags go ‘gaga’. We’ve seen plenty of iPhone docking stations; in fact the choices are so bizarre you’ll need a year to know all of them. But when it comes to tables that mimic the styling cues of the popular smartphone, there’s not many ‘quality’ ones that you can choose from. Today, we introduce Kyle Buckner’s iTable, something that can be considered to be in the league of its own.

This rather involved docking solution combines the aesthetics of the iPhone 4 with a little bachelor-pad-of-the-future flair, allowing its user to summon a set of eight recessed speakers with a simple swipe of the hand. It’s also packing a set of four aluminium-trimmed cup holders, complete with LED lights to give your drinks a little mood lighting of their own.

The thing’s all hand-made, and while it was designed with the iPhone 4 in mind, it can be built to fit your smartphone of choice.
