Sony has unveiled a new color for their current PSP. The PSP will be available on August 12th this year at the price of $200. This portable game console will come together with Madden 09, “NFL: In Just One Play” on UMD, a 1GB Memory Stick, and a downloadable PSP game known as Beats. Yeehaa! I’m not getting one. Microsoft announced on Wednesday that its Xbox 360 game console beat the Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 3 to reach 10 million units in U.S. sales.

“History has shown us that the first company to reach 10 million in console sales wins the generation battle,” Don Mattrick, a Microsoft senior vice president who heads the company’s Xbox business, said in a statement.

The Xbox 360 was launched in US in November 2005 and the PS3 and Wii were launched a year in US a year later. According to market research firm NPD, the Wii is closing in on the Xbox 360 with 8.8 million units sold as of the end of March while Sony has hit 4.1 million on its PS3. Microsoft also said their Xbox Live online service has hit up to 12 million members. So guys, which is your best of console from that 3.

Good news to all Wii owners. Due to the success of Wii game console, Nintendo has launched WiiWare, a software service for games. Wii owners who have their console connect to the internet will be able to download games from both large developers and small shops. Looks like Nintendo is ready to compete with Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade and Sony’s PlayStation Store.

“By reducing the barriers that make console game development prohibitively expensive,” the company said, “WiiWare showcases original ideas in the most democratic environment in industry history.

Looks like the RRod (Red Ring of Death) issue is going to be solved soon, Mr. Rumor said that there’s probably a new Xbox 360 soon in few months. The new version of Microsoft’s game console codenamed Jasper will first utilize both 65nm GPU and CPU. With the 65nm chips the console should run cooler and quieter than the current 360s. Mr. Rumor said you will be able to see these on shelves in August this year.
