Duke Nukem Forever minimum requirement announced, is it finally ready?

After 14 years of stagnant development, give or take, the epic violent and somewhat sexy game Duke Nukem Forever seem to be ready for launch, under Gearbox Software. So, the question of “Can my PC handle the new Duke?” will finally be answered.

Duke ain’t a game like Crysis where you’ll need some imba rig powered by a nuclear reactor to run it, so the minimum and recommended hardware specs aren’t very shocking.

Minimum Specifications

  • OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.0 Ghz / AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 2.0 Ghz
  • Memory: 1 GB
  • Hard Drive: 10 GB free
  • Video Memory: 256 MB
  • Video Card: nVidia GeForce 7600 / ATI Radeon HD 2600
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

Recommended Specifications

  • OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 Ghz / AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 2.6 Ghz
  • Memory: 2 GB
  • Hard Drive: 10 GB free
  • Video Memory: 512 MB
  • Video Card: nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS / ATI Radeon HD 3850
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

Compared to the game that it’s trying to succeed, however, then this requirement seems to have a huge gap. The engine that’s used this time is said to be from the original Unreal engine, thus you don’t see something crazy like the CryEngine.

Next Assassin’s Creed game teased with a date and location

Next Assassin’s Creed game teased with a date and location

Just finished playing Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and hated the cliff-hanging ending? Wanted more than just that? All of a sudden, Assassin’s Creed is a new religion, probably one of the best games with the best storyline of the new-age game.

The third teaser video for Ubisoft’s next Assassin’s Creed game has been revealed over at their Facebook’s fanpage. This time, the flash content shows a date of 24.06.1459, with the Hagia Sophia mosque in Istanbul as the background, six years after it stopped being Constantinople.

If you look at the timeline of Assassin’s Creed, Ezio Auditore da Firenze was born on the date that is specified, but we never knew where Ezio was born, though he being born in the Italian renaissance shouldn’t make the game’s location be in Istanbul.

However, Altair’s location was Istanbul. The first teaser from Ubisoft also showed Altair’s name in the flash. Altair’s return to the game is not possible, as he’s a person from the 12th Century AD and the date shown here is in the 15th Century AD when Ezio is born. Are we looking at a new character related with Altair and with the plot set before Ezio was born? That should fill up the gap in between.

This is the new Lara Croft, looks more serious, and insanely hot as usual

This is the new Lara Croft, looks more serious, and insanely hot as usual

This is the cover of multiple game magazines for this month, all showing the same artwork of Lara Croft bandaging herself from a terrible wound. This is the new Lara Croft, which is more serious, more realistic, and simply trying to survive from the hordes of family enemies and rivals and bandits. Even the title is simple. It’s called ‘Tomb Raider’, and that’s it.

Last time, Tomb Raider used to be simple and fun, with her fake boobs making huge number of gamers fantasizing things. But due over time where more games are developed, the shadows of Tomb Raider has slowly faded away. But Lara Croft seemed to be back this time, for real.

The game is said to be more physics-based puzzles and platforming. Lara will also be able to exhibit a “survival instinct” that will let her see helpful items in her world, according to early accounts of Tomb Raider previews flooding the Tomb Raider Forums web site.

The game is reportedly taking influence from the likes of Half-Life 2, Assassin’s Creed and Uncharted for some of its new mechanics, drawing influence from films like Batman Begins and 127 Hours for its themes.

This sure brings back memories. Hopefully they also bring along the awesome mechanism and graphics of Eidos’s products.

Is this the next Assassin’s Creed game?

Is this the next Assassin’s Creed game?

A fan of the assassin franchise spotted a message on the Assassin’s Creed Facebook page which leads to a Flash file that urge fans to “Spread the Word” to reveal an exclusive look at the next Assassin’s Creed game, and lurking within the Flash file was this logo. Is this the next game in the franchise that will be a Facebook game?

Further analysis discovered that the Arabic writing appearing in the flickering video atop the Flash page read “Altair Ibn La Ahd” backwards, or “Altair, Son of No One.

Is this a new console version of Assassin’s Creed starring the first game’s protagonist? A spin-off for iOS or a handheld system? According to another image pulled from the Flash file, all will be revealed in the May 13 issue of Game Informer.

Too real to be true? Nope, they’re Unreal!

To real to be true? Nope, they’re Unreal!

If you think your Assassin’s Creed game is beautiful, and your Crysis 2 game is so real, then you’ve seen nothing yet. Here’s a demo of the next Unreal engine for the Unreal 3 gaming platform, and damn they do look surreal alright, although it might be too real for some parts, that it looks very unreal. Like, so real, ya know?

Super Pong Table brings multiplayer of four to retro gaming, only lacks scores

The Super Pong Table allows for up to four players and fives balls per game, and enlists 900 LEDs and four Atari paddle controllers to make the thing work. Each player controls his or her own stick and gains or loses a point depending on whether they hit or miss a ball — the first player to reach 20 points gets their very own “YOU WIN” light up display.

See how Agent 47 rolls

March 30th, 2011

Witness protection? No sweat! Big shots of the porn industry? Who cares? Agent 47 just go in, drop a mine, and blow everything sky ‘fuckin’ high. Talk about crappy AI of games in the year 2006, this is easily the funniest and easiest method to play Hitman: Blood Money. Watching this video makes me want to replay the game very much, and as far as I know, Eidos did mention that the next ‘Hitman 5’ is under development, and might just see the day of light this year.

Valve gives you a funny hat in Team Fortress 2, in exchange for donation to Japan

Valve gives you a funny hat in Team Fortress 2, in exchange for donation to Japan

We see many iOS developers joining Apple’s move to donate to Japan disaster relief fund by donating all revenue of apps to Red Cross America. Now Valve is also doing a similar event. From now till April 6, players of Team Fortress 2 can buy limited edition items, and money collected from these items will go directly to Red Cross America’s Japanese disaster relief fund.

Valve is introducing three limited edition hats and two special noisemakers to the Mann Co. store. The “Humanitarian’s Hachimaki” ($7.99), the “Benefactor’s Kanmuri” ($19.99) and the most prestigious “Magnanimous Monarch” ($99.99) will be available from now through April 6. The hats can be equipped by all classes; however, they cannot be traded or used for crafting.

After April 6, none of these items will be available in any form. It’s good to see that many companies are participating in this relief fund activity for good causes.
