Apple has just let loose the official iOS 4.2 beta builds for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch for the developers, so don’t be surprised if you saw someone somewhere experiencing multitasking on the iPad yet not jailbreaking it. Additionally, Apple has decided to bestow a name upon its new printing experience (the direct-to-printer tech the company showed off at its fall event). And that name? AirPrint (pff!). In a piece of PR just issued by Apple, it’s noted that owners of HP products with ePrint tech will be the first to take advantage of the new tool – so that’s something. We don’t need special AirPrint-enabled printers to use it. Lucky? Read more…

Owners of iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 2nd generation, iPod touch 3rd generation, or iPod touch 4th generation, please pay attention. I repeat, owners of iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 2nd generation, iPod touch 3rd generation, or iPod touch 4th generation, please pay attention. The iOS 4.1 is live, live, live! Let’s plug in your i-device now, get the update to iOS 4.1 over with, and prepare for the great Game Center to arrive guys! Aren’t you excited? Some might, but some might not even bother. But I’m sure I will, as I’ll be gaming like crazy (too extreme don cha think?) in the upcoming weekend holiday. But of kush, the iOS 4.1 is not only about the games. Your face will be happy to stop getting accused for iPhone 4 hang-ups with the long overdue proximity sensor fix.

TomTom might not be the best GPS software for your iPhone, but they are ‘kind’. In an effort to maintain compatibility with Apple’s latest iPhone, TomTom is now including a simple adapter for all Car Kit orders going out on the 1st of September and later. If you ordered one prior to that, you can apply down in the source link for a freebie to be sent your way. Think about it. You’re paying another $50 for making your already-GPS-capable phone usable in your car, instead of spending another $200 for a dedicated GPS navigator. What’s more, your GPS will now stay in your pocket whenever you leave your car, making your car safer from GPS thieves. And if your car ever were to break down half way, you can still carry your GPS phone with you and walk home, instead of stranded at the roadside not knowing how to go home.

While announcing the new range of iPods last week, Apple also announced the upcoming iOS 4.1. It will boast a number of bug fixes with some other rather notable additions. The proximity sensor issue and weak Bluetooth issue will be fixed in this issue. What’s interesting is that Steve Jobs also stated that the iPhone 3G’s performance will be ‘improved’ with this version, unlike the previous iOS 4.0 when it ‘killed’ the 3G. Read more…

The Unreal Engine might be slightly dated, but they’re still very impressive, and plenty of game developers still use them for some new games that are not that intense, compared to the Cry Engine at least. The creators of the Unreal Engine and the games that run on it have brought their tech to the iPhone. Gives a new meaning to ‘Gaming on iPhone’ right? Epic Games is now letting iPhone owners see how well their engine works with a free demo, Epic Citadel. Soon, gaming on an iOS device might be the in-thing to do. Read more…

People seemed to be impressed by the iPhone 4’s camera, but not enough impressed. Then again, the iPhone has seen fair share of mods from any kinds of form due to its popularity. One person by the name Aniebres has shown a fair decent result of converting the iPhone 4 into a SLR-like body nicely equipped with a lens. Hardware wise, it seemed solid enough, with the iPhone 4 slotting in with a satisfying click, while the entire lens mechanism has been shifted over to line up with the iPhone’s camera location. This ironically creates a room for an Apple sticker too! Check out how it’s done in the video below. Anyway, I really love to say this: “i-Fire in the hole!!!”

I bet many would have loved their iPhone except for one thing, the permanent battery that cannot be removed. A somewhat perennial phone that has spawned a huge industry of specific ‘aesthetic’ accessories especially for itself, all these have somehow killed the ‘aesthetic’ form of the pocket-friendly phone.

I’ve seen a fair share of dual SIM phones, which mostly are manufactured by China companies, and a few from CSL Groups. Hardly do we see them lurking around in the European market. Shows quite a lot about the Asian cultures don’t it? Used for work, or scandals? Anyway, following up to their iPhone 3G version, USBFever has refreshed their solution towards the iPhone 4 market yet again, with a new $30 case that can host dual full size SIM cards on the back of an iPhone 4, while running an adapter to the iPhone 4’s micro SIM slot. The case is obviously made in some classy clear plastic to keep the aesthetic looks.
You can then switch between the two SIMs from the iPhone’s own settings menu, though unfortunately you can’t rock both SIMs simultaneously. Somehow this seemed to be a simple and somewhat pricey solution to those AP iPhone owners that doesn’t want to cut their full size SIM into a micro SIM.

We’ve seen a fair amount of iPod docks that’s flickering around the market place, ranging from cheapo China-brand companies with their badly assembled and painted products, to premium glossy docks from certain companies that charges you thousands just because of that few Swarovski crystals that they stuck in there. But Pioneer plans to seal that gap, with their KODO XW-NAW1 which slides in between these two categories. Decent product from a reputable company, sold at a reasonable price.

Surely you’ve seen many digital equalizers dancing to the beat on a black shirt while you’re clubbing, but have you see one that can be customized by a specific iPhone? The video that you see above, is a jacket with embedded LED on it, that is linked to an app on an iPhone. How did the app pass Apple’s strict iTunes App Store really beats me, but they say that you’ll be the coolest guy in the upcoming rave party as this jacket’s coming in fall of this year.
Now, what if somebody hacked the software, and controlled the display of another dood wearing the outfit? Imagine changing the display to show “I’m a douche! Yeah!” onto the back of the other dood. New sweet meaning to hacking indeed.
