What will Mark Zuckerberg and Co be announcing tomorrow in their ‘Mobile Event’ press conference that’s going live within hours? Probably a refreshed mobile version of Facebook, or a proper Facebook app for iPad. Or even a Facebook Phone to have a friendly match with the iPhone. Might even be a VoIP service integrated into Facebook! Well, we’ll know once it goes live!

Dell did not want to miss out on the early craze of Windows Phone 7, and thus has also whooped out their own version of the Windows Phone 7 handset, albeit only one model, and a very odd one among the crowd. It’s called the Dell Venue Pro. Dell’s take on the Windows Phone 7 is a portrait slide-out QWERTY keyboard style, and it’s a huge portrait slider Windows Phone 7, at 4.1-inch. It’s a capacitive, multitouch display joined by additional back, home, and search touch-sensitive buttons. Looks typical of a WinPo7 handset, until you slide out the QWERTY keyboard hiding behind.

We can see two models from LG at the moment, as there’s another slide-up QWERTY model from LG named GW910. So you get either the entertainment set, which is the Optimus 7, or a more working type Quantum, but less of the bells and whistles. Let’s check them out. Read more…

Previously we’ve said that Sony might be developing an Android 3.0-based gaming phone under the PlayStation brand, and now a new job posting seems to indicate that Sony really is getting some Android action. Well a progress is always a progress. The PlayStation division is looking for a senior server engineer in London with “experience in mobile development, specifically Android.” The rest of the listing sounds like this person will be involved in running an online game service, which certainly makes sense.
