There hasn’t been a big participation when it comes to Android’s gaming platform. Most apps that show up in the app store are daily-use or work-related, which lacks the fun-factor. The number of games for Android has been small when compared to the iOS platform. Bu that’s about to change, as Sony gets its ‘1337 skillz’ onto the green monsters’ home. Engadget has news that says that ‘the company is actively and heavily developing a brand new gaming platform, ecosystem, and device which are already in the late stages of planning’. Sony has put up a countdown on their Sony Style website, which hints on a new release sometime tomorrow. What we (and many others) are guessing is the Sony Xperia with Android. Apparently the four-inch Android smartphone is finally ready for its debut, though whether it’s “smarter” or no will perhaps hinge on which version of the OS it ships with.

Sony unveils new member for their Xperia series lineup. The X8, codename Shakira (no, not the one that’s in Africa right now) is the new member of Sony’s smartphone series. Its 3-inch wide, and runs on Android 1.6, with obvious customizations to its interface, for example Sony’s own Timescape and Mediascape. The UI seemed to be from the same class of X10 Mini.

Sony Ericsson has released their new smartphone, the Sony Ericsson Aspen. It is running on Windows Mobile 6.5.3 and comes with a 2.4 inch QVGA TFT touchscreen display, a 3.2 megapixel camera with 4 x digital zoom, built in WiFi, A-GPS, Blueooth. It is an eco-friendly phone with power saving mode, eco mate application and its box and charger are made of recycled materials. It will be available later this year in black and silver. Sony Ericsson has announced its XPERIA X10. It is powered by Snapdragon processor, running on Android 1.6 platform comes with a 4-inch full wide VGA touch screen, an 8.1M camera with 16x zoom lens and auto focus function, 8GB microSDHC card, wireless LAN and Bluetooth connectivity. XPERIA X10 will hit selected market in 2010.

Rumors: Sony Ericsson Kurara was announced. They called it the Satio “sister”. Based on Symbian S60 platform and will come with 3.5″ AMOLED touchscreen and 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus and HD-recording. It will be launched in earlier 2010. Here’s new leaked on Sony Ericsson mobile, this one codenamed “Kokura”. The Sony Ericsson Kokura is a 12.1-megapixel camera phone. It is using the TI3240 chipset, running Symbian OS version 9.4 and S60 5th edition interface. No info on release date.

Sony Ericsson has officially announced their T700 (Remi) today. It is a 10mm slim bar phone that comes with 3.2-megapixel and built-in stereo speakers. T700 was housed in a metal finish casing and support GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 UMTS/HSDPA 2100 network.
