Whenever a Top Gear episode airs, complaints and even lawyer letters will start to fly in. that’s because almost everything that came out of the mouth of Jeremy Clarkson in this highly popular automobile show is insulting to some, well only those that take the show too seriously. What’s more, even his own co-host isn’t very proud of what came out of Jezza’s mouth.
The hamster, Richard Hammond apologized this week for his offensive remarks about Mexicans during a Top Gear segment discussing the Mastretta MXT earlier this year. Hammond said he regretted the remarks, and sees now how they could have been offensive. Still, Hamster didn’t exactly come all the way clean, saying that his words – and those of his two co-hosts – were clearly a joke. Yes, we can see that hamster.
For its part, the BBC has stood behind Hammond, May and Clarkson, saying that off-color humor is an integral part of the show. The presenters and the BBC got a thorough shellacking over the comments after the show aired. Mexico’s ambassador to the UK called the remarks “offensive, xenophobic and humiliating.”
Hopefully corporates and governments will stop taking Top Gear too seriously, or else every minster in the world would be complaining in the parliament about a car show that’s damaging their national car with a hammer instead of moving the country forward.

There’s the original Top Gear UK. Shortly after Australia had their fair share down under with much controversy at the beginning too, and then the Americans were jealous and had their too. Now, it seemed that BBC is working hard to milk the world’s most popular Automotive Show ever aired, and presented to us Top Gear China.
It’s started with a leaked photo that sparked the rumour, and then some short teaser-like video, and now it finally aired in China, at time where the three others were on a break. I guess the project actually was kept a secret for a long time. Watch the first 15 minutes of Top Gear China after the jump.
The Chinese spin-off follows the same format as every Top Gear franchise, sporting three energetic hosts, silly challenges and a studio audience made up of attractive girls and trendy-looking dudes. The first episode of Top Gear China includes a comparison test between a Cadillac and a donkey, apparently to see which is better at graining dry corns. Not as hilarious as their original UK counterpart, but it does provide some level of entertainment for the Chinese audience.

Previously nobody knows how Top Gear picks their new Stig. Well, for fair comparison, they’ve only changed the Stig ones. This would be the second time. And as few weeks ago, many already know that BBC Top Gear has a Stig farm where new Stigs are bred, where they feed tonnes of Ruben Barrichello’s saliva to the Stig, and force them to watch F1 races every night. Let’s not forget that they’re genetically mutated with Michael Schumacher’s genes and Brad Pitt’s to begin with. Sadly though, not all grow up to be tame racing drivers though, with some being too violent and others seeming to suffer from the dulling effects of too much inbreeding. Read more…

Because, apparently the current Stig run away from its farm house, to a new farm next door. Therefore, Top Gear presenters Clarkson, Hammond, and May are forced to find a replacement for the Stig, and well, it’s obvious that they’ll go back to the original farmer that raise it. Yes, they’re back to the Stig farm to find a new suitable replacement. Well, that’s what some intrepid reporters stumbled, at least. Read more…

This has to be the best looking car around. It’s also the fastest around you know. The days of the Veyron Supersport really is short lived. SSC launched this Ultimate Aero II, their ultimate car. It has a powerplant in the form of a 6.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that has 1,350 horses. Ouch! Bye bye Veyron. The top speed of this angel (or devil) is 275mph (442.5kph). Doesn’t beat the Veyron Supersport by a lot, but still it’s a staggering number. Read more…

Google has been around for many years now, and daily there are millions of questions being thrown at Google, but have you actually wondered what the top searches are? Is everything made by Aston Martin better than everything made by Ferrari? Why is Earth round? Is Einstein really from Mars? And, finally, who is the Stig? Read more…

The U.S. Top Gear has been under quite some scrutiny, getting dropped, changing hosts, and many more. But now the first glory trailer for North American’s version of the wacky ‘lol-able’ automobile show is out! With the trailer out, it seemed that this time they’re getting it quite right, and that Tanner Foust, Rutledge Wood and Adam Ferrara will be winning viewers’ heart and making it big for the show too. Let’s just hope they won’t end up with too many complains for wrecking up sponsors’ cars like how the Australian Top Gear end up initially. The long-awaited U.S. version of Top Gear will be aired on The History Channel, with the similarly successful formula of cool tests and bizarre challenges, yet not forgetting those amazing super car reviews as usual.

Yeah. Sort of, actually. He did manage to hit the said max speed of 431km/h of the car. In 2005, Bugatti announced the world’s fastest road-legal car. Two years later, the SSC Ultimate Aero TT overtook it with a top speed of 412km/h. That made Bugatti pressed the red alarm button, and everyone went back to the drawing board. Read more…

Some say, that his man stick always point due north, and that he’s been seen trying to assasinate Rubens Barrichello with his white shoe. Well all we know is, he’s called the Stig! But fear not, as now we can drive the mysterious BBC’s Top Gear cast member nuts in the air. Well, almost! At least we can dream that we did, with this RC Chopper that part resembles his iconic white knight helmet, and part Alien-like shape.
This indoor remote controlled mini-copter is built with an aluminum frame, and has a built in gyro that rights the toy if you tried to make the Stig crash onto lands, and you’ll get about 8-15 minutes of flight time per charge. For about $60 (plus the cost of shipping), you can fund The Stig’s “Assassinate Rubens Barrichello Masterplan” by ordering your very own Stigoopter!

Jeremy Clarkson and James May is taking their 1963 Grosser Mercedes and 1972 Rolls-Royce Corniche to the test in a series of challenges around the Top Gear circuit. Several days later and they still haven’t managed to push them down the track. In part two: With the score at 2-1 to the Grosser, Jeremy Clarkson and James May take their cars to London for what seems like the easiest test ever.
